The Light House Project’s Interfaith Food Drive Honors Chapel Hill Shooting Victims on 7th Anniversary of Tragedy
– #FeedTheirLegacy Interfaith Food Drive Continues to Give Back– 

Cary, North Carolina, January 27, 2022— The Light House Project, a nonprofit organization providing support, empowerment and a safe space for Muslim youth, is once again holding its annual Interfaith Food Drive.  The event, entitled Feed Their Legacy, collects food donations for The Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina in honor of the Chapel Hill Shooting victims, Deah Barakat, Razan Abu Salha and Yusur Abu Salha who were brutally murdered in Chapel Hill in 2015. 

In the last six years, The Light House Project’s Interfaith Food Drive has collected what equals to 291,583 meals for the food bank.  The event takes place from February 1-26th and coincides with the 7th anniversary of the tragedy, which is February 10th. 

Local donation boxes are located around the Triangle for those who want to participate.  The final collection day is February 26th at the Islamic Association of Raleigh and ends with a gathering of volunteers from all faiths, backgrounds and ages to organize the donated food, prepare boxes and load the food bank trucks for transport.  A virtual food drive is also taking place and can be accessed by visiting https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/interfaithfooddrive
